LEEDS (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)      Today environmental conservation is on the forefront of everyone’s mind. In the construction industry, there are new methods and advances in production which will ultimately increase the level of construction sustainability. Referred to as “Green Construction”, the industry is changing the ways it builds and handles construction waste. Within the last two years, Silva Homes Construction Inc. has become a mason contractor involved in a LEEDS certified SILVER project, The Wellness Center at the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, NY. By utilizing local stone quarries, using materials with a percentage of post-consumer recycled content and sorting waste material to be recycled back into production when possible, Silva Homes has experience in constructing their masonry masterpieces with an environmentally-conscious level of proficiency.
